Horsey Windpump
Somerton Road, Horsey, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, NR29 4EE
Drainage mills are iconic architecture of the Norfolk Broads landscape and played an important part in keeping the land dry so farmers were able to graze their livestock and grow produce. While the buildings themselves are not used today, several still remain intact after a lot of love and care, with Horsey Windpump being one of them.
Horsey Windpump is one of the youngest mills in The Broads, but in her short lifespan, she has endured much hardship. For two days, visitors will get the opportunity to explore the building for free and discover the story of her survival.
