Discover a historic 12th Century church famous for the Penn Doom, a rare 15th-century painting on oak panels. The church brasses will be on view as well as other areas of historic interest such as the attractive floor tiles and heraldic roof shields.

An opportunity to view a beautiful church in the village of Penn, Buckinghamshire, parts of which dates from the late 12th century. Rare 15th century painting of the ‘Last Judgement’ - Penn Doom, which was previously displayed in the Victoria and Albert Museum. Attractive 14th century Penn floor tiles are set into the floor of the Lady Chapel. Heraldic shields in the roof portray nine centuries of English history. Six of William Penn’s (Quaker and founder of Pennsylvania) grandchildren are buried in the family vault under the nave. Refreshments are available on Saturday & Sunday during opening hours.
