Highcliffe Castle Open Day

Visit Highcliffe Castle for free during this one-day special event.
Highcliffe Castle highlights include the Stained-Glass Studio, plus fun family activities such as our dressing up area and indoor trails.
The Castle's romantic Gothic Revival style is largely due to the medieval masonry shipped from France. The ‘Jesse Window’ is made from French medieval stained glass, and the central panel is believed to have come from a church in Rouen. Two devastating fires in the 1960s rendered the building derelict, but in 1977 it was purchased by Christchurch Borough Council and a programme of repairs was begun with the support of English Heritage and the Heritage Lottery Fund.
