Visit a hidden part of the ruins at Fountains Abbey - learn more about the life of the Lay Brothers who lived and worked on the estate.

Discover how the lay brothers were an essential part of abbey life from our knowledgeable guides whilst taking in the ruins from a different point of view.

Ticket holders receive free access to Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, including our cafes and shop selling handmade goods and local produce.

Meet your tour guide in the Abbey Nave. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your time slot. There'll be plenty of time for a photo opportunity!

Want to learn more? Join our free drop-in tours of the Garden and Abbey (11am and 1pm) or the Abbey (12pm and 2pm). These tours start from Porter’s Lodge, where you can also learn more about the history of the abbey in our permanent, interactive exhibition.

Directions:
To enter the estate head to any admissions point and give the name you booked your ticket(s) under. Allow at least 15 minutes to get to the Abbey Nave from the Visitor Centre, 10 minutes from West Gate and 30 minutes from the Studley entrance. All admissions points open at 10am. Please be ready to give your name to your guide when you arrive in the Nave.

Please book a ticket for your preferred time slot as spaces are limited. Each ticket includes free entry to the estate on Tuesday 10 September during our usual opening hours of 10am - 6pm. Last entry is at 4.30pm.
