Hidden Spaces - Inside Fountains Hall

Take a guided tour of Fountains Hall, including the Great Chamber and the recently restored Oak Room, which are usually closed to visitors. Find out more about its long and varied history from one of our knowledgeable guides.

Ticket holders will also receive free access to Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, including our cafes and shop selling handmade goods and local produce.

Want to learn more? Join our free drop-in tours of the Garden and Abbey (11am and 1pm) or just the Abbey (12pm and 2pm). These tours start at Porter’s Lodge, where you can also learn more about the history of the abbey in our permanent, interactive exhibition.

Directions:

Go to any admissions point and give the name you booked your ticket(s) under. Allow at least 15 minutes to get to Fountains Hall from the Visitor Centre, 5 minutes from West Gate and 30 minutes from the Studley entrance. All admissions points open at 10am.

Please book a ticket for your preferred time slot as spaces are limited. Tickets include free entry to the estate on Thursday 12 September during our usual opening hours of 10am - 6pm. Last entry is at 4.30pm.

Accessibility details

This event requires access by steps and staircases. Unfortunately, dogs (with the exception of assistance dogs) are not allowed in Fountains Hall.

Additional information

Parking is free at the Visitor Centre and West Gate car park, with blue badge/disabled priority spaces at both sites. There is a car parking charge at the Studley car park.
