Explore the industrial heritage of this mill on the banks of the Humber

Visitors can explore the historic whiting mill on Hessle foreshore, with a special open day on Saturday 7th September (10.00-16.00). The building was recently refurbished as part of a Lottery funded project and is full of interesting features, and information panels about the history of the site. The mill is a unique example of an early nineteenth century whiting windmill.

A trail around the mill helps you to learn more about the site and there is also a film about some historical characters associated with the mill.

In addition, children’s craft activities will be taking place, around or inside the mill depending on the weather.
