The Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust's Coalbrookdale site includes five individual museums. Enginuity is an interactive science and technology space. The Museum of Iron features the history of iron and how it changed the world, and the Old Furnace is the original site where innovation paved the way for the modern world. The Darby Houses give an insight into the private lives of the ironmasters, and the temporary exhibition 'From Stars to Cells' in the Coalbrookdale Gallery looks at iron as you have never seen it.
Activities during the weekend include food demonstrations, printing and hands on craft sessions, 'Make do and Mend' training with our Costume team, and guided tours and walks round the valley.
Academic partners from Birmingham City University, Keele University, University of Birmingham and Wolverhampton University School of Engineering will show off their research and talk about their work with the Trust.
The Environment Agency will also be present at the Museum of the Gorge on Saturday 7th September to discuss their work and the impact of flooding on the Ironbridge Gorge.
