Burnley Mechanics Theatre

Throughout the day we’ll have free Jazz music performances in The Front Room, a selection of films from Burnley Film Makers, and an adventure walk for families around the building. Drop in any time between 11 am and 3 pm.

11am & 1pm - Family Adventure Walk - accompany Adam, an intrepid explorer on a walk around the Mechanics, exploring areas not normally open to the public. By taking inspiration from everything that surrounds you, you will contribute to creating a unique story! See your local theatre through fresh eyes, and who knows what amazing adventures can be conjured up!
11.30am - Screening of a new film production inspired by Burnley film maker Sam Hanna made by local schools working with Blaze Arts.
1pm & 2pm Burnley on Film - Screenings by Burnley Film Makers featuring films made by amateur film makers in the Burnley area from the 1940s to 1980s.

The Mechanics Theatre is located on Manchester Road next to Burnley Town Hall. It is a 5 minute walk from both Burnley Manchester Road train station and Burnley Bus Station. There is a bus stop directly outside of the Theatre.

Accessibility details

Burnley Mechanics Theatre is a heritage building and whilst the main public areas are accessible, the Adventure Walk involves moving around the building, and due to the age and nature of our building the route will involve some steps. We are creating a more accessible route for the 1pm show, so please speak to box office about any access requirements you might have.
