Hebblethwaite House is a large merchants House that has had a colourful life. It was a home for 200yrs before becoming a Bank with the Managers home included. The house was divided to allow the Managers house to become local authority offices for some 50yrs. When the authority moved out the Bank abandoned the Managers house elements. The Bank sold up in 2008 and the property lay empty for 12 years. The tour will show physical changes made to the building and set the scene for how life was lived in different ages. The Tour includes the attic rooms which have great trusses dating from 1680. The tour will include three sets of stairs and is not suitable for those with mobility issues.
