The Friends of Heaton Hall will be on site to answer all your questions and you will be able to take a virtual tour of the building too. The main rooms of the building will be open. Near to the Hall there are cafe facilities and public toilets. There is plenty to do in the park if you want to make a day of it from the animal farm, beekeepers' and tram rides, lakeside walks and cafe and garden centre and cafe. Parking is a reasonable price and the Manchester Metrolink tram stops close to the Hall. Alight at the Heaton Park stop on the Manchester Bury line.

Disabled toilets and parking nearby. Pushchairs to be left in the entrance hall wherever possible. Wheelchair friendly on the ground floor of the Hall and throughout the park. Video available on the ground floor of the Hall for wheelchair users, showing the cupola room. Only assistance dogs allowed in the Hall. The park and lakeside cafes are dog friendly. Entry is to the Hall is freeflow No formal tours on the day but the Friends are on hand to answer any questions. Information banners are in each room and a PowerPoint presentation runs on a loop telling the history of the Hall. No lift
Heaton Park Manchester is the largest municipal park in Europe, covering some 640 acres. The Hall is situated in the centre of the park. Built in 1772 for Thomas Egerton, who later became the first Earl of Wilton, it was designed by the architect James Wyatt. This grade one listed, neo classical house was James Wyatt's first commission of a a patron's private residence. He designed the house at the age of 26.
