Hare Hill House dating from the late 18th century has been at the centre of the development of Littleborough for almost 250 years. Currently being transformed to create a much needed and valued community heritage asset.

Hare Hill House was home to 4 generations of the Newall family between 1775 and 1900. In the twentieth century the house served as the Town Hall for the former Littleborough Urban District Council before local government reorganisation in 1974 when it became part of Rochdale Borough Council. It then served as a neighbourhood office until 2010 when the Council moved out. Local charity MoorEnd Development Trust took up occupation in 2013 with the intention of creating a Community Art and Enterprise centre for the people of Littleborough. During the last ten years the trust and its volunteers have worked to refurbish the building, uncovering many heritage features and discovering stories and anecdotes about the House and its occupants.
