Halton House, a Victorian Grade 2* House, previously the home of Alfred de Rothschild until 1918, now the Officers' Mess for RAF Halton. Royal Air Force, Halton's Museum, The Trenchard Museum and the James McCudden Flight Centre will also be open.

A rare opportunity to visit Halton House, the 'party' House and weekend country residence of Alfred de Rothschild. Built between 1880 and 1884 in the style of a French Château, for over 30 years it provided the venue for Rothschild's opulent weekend parties for the high society of the day.

In 1918 Halton House and the estate was acquired by the Royal Air Force and for the past 100+ years Halton House has served as the Officer's Mess for RAF Halton, Wendover, Buckinghamshire. The House is often used as a location for films and television, e.g. 'The King's Speech', 'The Queen', 'The World is not Enough', 'Cruella' and some scenes from 'Bridgerton'.

The Trenchard Museum tells the story of RAF Halton in WWI and the RAF Apprentice Scheme, with other memorabilia which illustrate life and training in the Station's history. The James McCudden Flight Centre has a cockpit simulator and displays to show the history and theory of flight.

RAF HALTON IS AN ACTIVE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE SITE. ACCESS TO THE TRENCHARD MUSEUM and THE JAMES MCCUDDEN FLIGHT CENTRE IS ONLY BY THE FREE COACH PROVIDED FROM HALTON HOUSE.
Please note: The use of the free coach is the only way access to the Museums is available.
