How they fit into the rich heritage of Halifax and how the past has shaped the town of today. We will show you the world's tallest folly, buildings and parks provided by the town's wealthy philanthropists, tell the story of who built the church with the tallest spire, and even show you the site of the gruesome guillotine (the Gibbet) used in Halifax from 1286 to 1650.
Embark/Disembark the bus at the lay by on Charles Street, on the bottom side the M&S/Woolshops Car Park, HX1 1AA. This bus does not have disabled access but please send us your details if you require this on future bus tours, for which we hope to provide this facility. Duration approximately 2 hours. Please note any children booked on the tour must be accompanied by an adult with a ticket for the event and remain the responsibility of the parent or guardian at all times.
Halifax Heritage Tours CIC has been set up and is run by volunteers who are passionate about the heritage of 'Magic Halifax'.
Monies generated by donations will be put towards community and education projects to promote and preserve the heritage of Halifax. There is a limited number of places on each tour so book early to save disappointment!
