Great Yarmouth Holidays Through The Decades
Great Yarmouth Borough Council, Town Hall, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, NR30 2QF
Tourism has been a part of Great Yarmouth and Gorleston-on-Sea for many, many years. In 1844 and the arrival of the railways, daytrips were made possible. With the Bank Holiday Act passed in 1871, it gave the working class the chance to get away for the day.
Take a look at our collection of past holiday brochures, ranging from the 1930s right through to 2018, when the council printed their last holiday brochures.
There will also be a collection of old posters on view featuring slogans such as 'The Holiday You'll Treasure' and 'The Resorts that have Everything'.
Stay a little longer and listen to how Great Yarmouth's seafront has changed over the years with a talk in our Rambouillet Room at 11am on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 September. Book your free place at www.heritage-walks.co.uk
