2024 marks 50 years since the formation of "South Yorkshire.” Join our curatorial team for meet-and-greet sessions with videos, stories, and objects in our new cafe as we celebrate the last 50 years of the newly formed emergency services of the time.

2024 has seen the 50th anniversary since The Local Government Reorganisation Act of 1972. Creating new boundaries country wide by 1974. This followed on with the formation of new structures with our emergency services creating the new much larger “South Yorkshire” organisations. Join our curatorial team as they discover the past 50 years through video, audio, personal stories, photos and objects from our collection. All on display through our meet and greet walk in sessions in our brand new cafe and community space, an area of our historic building never before seen or used by visitors.
