Accessibility details

Gibside is a 600 acre site full of wide hard-standing paths. Many paths are accessible by wheelchair, however some areas are steeper than others with different terrains underfoot. Visitor reception will be able to assist with which paths are not suitable. We have mobility trampers available to book onsite, as well as an access bus which can transport visitors to the main areas of the Market Place and the Stables. For access to the Chapel, we have a stair climber if required.

Additional information

We anticipate that our car park will be very busy during Heritage Open Days and we may have to run a 'one in, one out' system at peak times. We encourage visitors to arrive onsite after 2pm and/or join us on Friday 13 September to best avoid any waits. Dogs are welcome at Gibside but should be kept on a lead at all times, except in our designated off-lead area at the Stables.
