Was coal ever extracted in the Porter Valley? Find out on this geological ramble led by three retired geologists. The walk will take 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Meet next to the Forge Dam cafe, Brookhouse Hill, Sheffield, S10 3TE, in the Porter Valley to explore the extraction and processing of the minerals once found in the valley. Please wear suitable footwear and bring a waterproof coat, as the HODs walk will go ahead even in inclement weather.
