Louth developed where the ancient trackway, Barton Street, crossed the River Lud. We look at the layout of the town’s medieval streets and the changes that came with the canal, the railway and the Louth Bypass.

Nowadays, Louth may be regarded as distant from modern amenities – is this good or bad?
