Join our expert team of English Heritage Volunteers for an exclusive tour of Haughmond Abbey. Learn about the history and secrets of this fascinating site

The extensive remains of an Augustinian abbey, including its abbots’ quarters, refectory and cloister. The substantially surviving chapter house has a frontage richly bedecked with 12th- and 14th-century carving and statuary, and a fine timber roof of around 1500.

As part of the 2024 Heritage Open Doors Festival, English Heritage are offering exclusive guided tours around the site. Tours are available at 11:00 am on the 9, 10 ,11 and 12 September. The tours are approx. 1 hour long. Dogs welcome on leads

Directions:
Haughmond Abbey is located on a lane off the B5062. There are steps connecting different levels of the ruins and the ground may be uneven in places. There are a wide variety of facilities, shops, restaurants and cafes in the nearby market town of Shrewsbury. Toilet facilities and a cafe are also available at Haughmond Hill Parking: Free parking is available for approximately 15 cars, located down a bumpy lane.
