Euston Gardens Fleetwood

Euston Gardens is laid out in front of the North Euston Hotel provided a pleasant place from which to enjoy the expansive views across Morecambe Bay, the proximity to nearby Pharos Lighthouse and Lower Lighthouse adding extra interest. The memorial obelisk donated in 1890 is in memory of two local men who lost their lives when endeavouring to save others in the great gale of 1890 and has recently been refurbished along with the Grade II listed drinking fountain manufactured by Walter Macfarlane & Co of Glasgow. Other enhancements included new seating depicting aspects of Fleetwood's railway, being the first to any seaside town in the country, and the fishing history. The gardens are also home to other historical artefacts, including a large stone commemorating the Preston and Wyre Railway, two anchors and a cannon reportedly fired on the occasion of Queen Victoria's visit to Fleetwood in 1847.
There is now a bronze statue of the Town's Founder Sir Peter Hesketh Fleetwood erected in May 2018.
