  • Multiple dates available
  • In person

Etton is an almost hidden village at the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds only 4 Miles from Beverley. Visit the Village Hall to view a display and then take a walk around the village.

Etton has a long history going back to the Bronze Age. Currently it has population of around 250 (2021 census) but in its late Georgian heyday as a thriving agricultural village the population was about 380 despite there being fewer houses.

Start your walk at the village hall where there will be refreshments (possibly before your walk AND after), photographs of the village, historical objects and knowledgable villagers. Maps of the walking routes around the village are available at Cherry Corner and the Village Hall. Features highlighted Include the remains of a medieval village and a Knights Templar Grange, a village pond (was it used to duck witches?), the nine hundred year old Norman church and the conservation area with many buildings still belonging to the Dalton Estate.

Please note that as this is a self guided walk, those participating do so at their own risk.
