Join the Women's Engineering Society in their Electric Dreams 2024 series of talks as they celebrate the formation of the Electrical Association for Women 100 years ago. This talk is organised in conjunction with the Pontefract Civic Society

As the scientific world looks at different ways to provide energy and head toward Net Zero, join Professor Graeme Gooday and Dr Katie Carpenter, from the University of Leeds, as they reveal the history behind the advent of domestic electricity and the networking role the women of the Electrical Association for Women, and one woman in particular Mabel Matthews, played in powering the country!
