Edward Swinfen Harris – Stony’s Architectural Hero Guided Walk

Starts from the Market Square, Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, MK11 1BE

  • 10 Sep 2024
  • In person
  • Pre-booking required

A guided walk celebrating the distinctive work of the town’s distinguished architect in his centenary year. Amongst others, we will see where he was born, where he lived and end by raising a glass to him at our final stop, The Old School House.

Edward Swinfen Harris (1841-1924) is probably the city’s most distinguished architect. His work (much of it in churches) peppers the city and surrounding area, and his distinctive hand is often readily recognisable. It was inevitable that he would design a number of buildings in his hometown, and we will visit them all during the walk.
