Explore the world of helicopter emergency medical services at our Norwich base. Join a tour to uncover facts about this 24/7 life-saving charity and how every second counts when reaching the most seriously injured and unwell people in our region.

On average every day in the East of England, eight people require the urgent medical care that can only be provided in the pre-hospital environment by EAAA’s critical care team consisting of specialist doctors and critical care paramedics. In these most extreme scenarios, the speed at which advanced care reaches the patient can be the difference between life and death.

Accessibility details

Due to the nature of the operations taking place at the base, all tours will be guided by a member of the East Anglian Air Ambulance team and must be booked in advance. If you can no longer fulfil your booking please do cancel this via the website to provide others with the opportunity to attend. Mission dependant we cannot guarantee that you will see the helicopter during your visit.

Additional information

You are welcome to park in any demarcated parking space. Having parked, please make your way back to the front of the building and enter via the main entrance. Disabled and motorbike parking is available at the front of the building. Helimed House is a no-smoking site. If you wish to smoke, you will need to leave the premises and car park and use the grassed area on Gambling Close. In the event of the fire alarm sounding, please make your way to the fire assembly point. This can be found at the grey-fenced compound near the parking barriers.
