Dry stone walling: techniques and history
Civic Hall, Park Lane, Poynton, Stockport, Greater Manchester, SK12 1RB
The Dry Stone Walling Association (DSWA) was formed in 1968 to counter the then almost terminal decline of the craft and is traditionally used for the boundaries of fields and churchyards, or as retaining walls for terracing. Dry stone walls are a familiar sight in Cheshire!
Join Ken Jones, a long term member of the Dry Stone Walling Association for a talk on the craft. In this hour long event, Ken will delve into the history of dry stone walling, the basic principles, tools of the trade and regional variations. You can also find out about what the Cheshire Branch gets up to.
