Display: 'Finding Catholicism.' The route to becoming a Catholic
Cathedral House, Unthank Road, Norwich, Norfolk, NR2 2PA
Catholicism is growing in this country, with thousands of people entering into the Church every year! But how do you become a Catholic? How do you begin this journey?
This display offers practical advice and contact information for those people interested in learning more about the Faith, and on the process of becoming a Catholic themselves.
Every year, the Cathedral offers a course called 'Understanding Catholicism' for people who are interested in joining the Church. This is part of the 'Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults' (RCIA).
RCIA teaches you the fundamentals of the faith, helping you to make the decision as to whether the Christian life is for you. It explores definitive Church teaching on the Faith, covering questions as to who God is, why He established His Church, why the Church holds the fullness of truth, what the Sacraments are, and how we can live out a Christian life, to become the saints we are all called to be!
The Church welcomes anyone who is interested in becoming a Catholic. The intention of the RCIA is to help you to be received into the Catholic Church. This journey begins with RCIA and moves through the Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation before you finally receive the Eucharist for the first time, usually at the Easter Vigil in the following year.
This display will be available to view under the West Gallery for the duration of the Heritage Open Days.
