Stirchley grew around Pershore Road, a main arterial road leading south out of Birmingham City into the Worcestershire Countryside.
With the advent of the famous Cadburys' chocolate factory Stirchley Street Station became Bournville station.
By World War One, what had been a hamlet, had turned into a Birmingham suburb bordered by the canal and railway and near the famous Cadburys’ factory.
