Dereham Routes
Church House, Church Street, Dereham, Norfolk, NR19 1DN
Dereham Routes is a 2 hour (approximately) walk, largely within the built up area of the town. It will pass the present Heritage Mid-Norfolk Railway and view parts of the long closed section of railway line that once connected Dereham to King's Lynn. Part of that line was used to form the present A47, but the walk will also visit the former A47 route which ran through the town - and was itself modified before the bypass was built in the 1970s.
Joining the walk will be a member of the Dereham Heritage Trust, providing historical information about what we can see as we walk.
As a bonus, the walk will pass a number of other sites in the town which are open for HODs, so participants can get a flavour of what else they can do while in Dereham.
