CWGC Tours 2024 - Buckingham Cemetery

Buckingham Cemetery, Brackley Road, Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, MK18 1JA

  • Multiple dates available
  • In person
  • Pre-booking required

Join us for a Commonwealth War Graves Commission tour of Buckingham Cemetery.

During this tour we will talk about the CWGC and look at the stories of the ten service personnel from the First and Second World War buried in the cemetery. One of these is 2nd Lieutenant Frank Luker who saw service in the Gloucester Regiment in France and then the Mediterranean. He was then commissioned, joining the newly formed Royal Air Force in 1918. Sadly, he died aged just 26 while on leave staying with family in Buckingham in November that year. The casualties from the Second World War include Gunner George Jones who was serving with a Royal Artillery unit involved with the air defence of London. The son of Jack and Annie Jones of Buckingham, he was aged 31 when he died in March 1943
