CWGC Tour of Second World War Graves - Cheltenham Cemetery
Bouncers Lane, Prestbury, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, GL52 5JT
During the walking tour you will learn about the history of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and about the heroic actions and self-sacrifice of some of our casualties buried in the cemetery.
Cheltenham cemetery contains 183 burials of both wars. The First World War graves are mainly of casualties who died in local voluntary hospitals. The burials are scattered except for a small plot of 10 Australian graves situated near the original crematorium chapel. You will also see a collection of original First World War battlefield crosses that are not normally available for public viewing.
