At the outbreak of the Second World War, a number of officers and men of the Merchant Navy agreed to serve with the Royal Navy under the terms of the T.124 agreement. The Liverpool Naval Memorial commemorates over 1,400 of these officers and men, who died on active service during the battle of the Atlantic, aboard more than 120 ships, who have no known grave but the sea. Discover more about the history and ongoing work of CWGC and learn about the heroes we commemorate.
