The Council House, listed Grade II, was built to the designs of W. Alexander Harvey & H Graham Wicks in 1934-5. It was the last in a series of municipal buildings designed for Dudley in the inter-war period. The architects Harvey & Wicks had previously designed the nearby complex which includes the Town Hall, Coroner's Court and Memorial Tower, also included within the Heritage Open Days events.
