Conservation open house at the British Library
96 Euston Road, London, Greater London, NW1 2DB
On Saturday the 7th of September we will be participating in Heritage Open Days and opening the doors to the British Library Centre for Conservation (BLCC). On your one hour time slot, you will be able to see our main conservation studio and speak with conservators to learn more about their roles in helping to conserve and preserve our collection of over 170 million items. We will have various stations set up in the studio to showcase different aspects of our work.
The event will include:
• Presentations by members of the conservation team, with a chance to ask questions about collection care
• Information about the work we do, which may include preventive conservation, conservation treatment and conservation science
• Free leaflets with handling advice
There are three sessions to choose from:
11:00-12:00
13:00-14:00
14:30-15:30
Each session lasts for 1 hour. We will meet you at in the main entrance hall of the British Library, across from the Information Desk and next to the café. There will be a sign out to indicate the meeting point. To book onto a session, email your session preference to [email protected]. Please only book onto one session. There are 12 slots available per session. Once these slots are filled we will start a wait list.
