Clandon Park is unlike any other historic house you’ll ever visit. The fire at Clandon Park was the worst in the National Trust’s history. Discover the Trust’s plans for the house, which offer a unique X-ray view of how great houses were made.

The National Trust team caring for Clandon Park are delighted to be revealing their new plans for the house, which offer a unique X-ray view of how great houses were made. Since a major fire in 2015, specialist research and investigative conservation has revealed more and more about how the house was originally designed, constructed and decorated. The Trust’s new plans for Clandon responds to the evocative spaces created by the fire and the findings the team have uncovered. Join the National Trust team on Saturday 7th, Sunday 8th, Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September to discover their work to conserve and share the story of a great house laid bare by a tragic fire.

Directions:
By train - Clandon Station (CLA), Station Road, West Clandon, GU4 7TE is 1 mile from Clandon Park. It is situated on the London Waterloo to Guildford mainline. There is no taxi rank at this station. Walking from Clandon station will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Please note the pavement is very narrow in places and may not be wide enough for buggies or wheelchairs. By bus - Services 300, 463 and 479. On foot - Approximately 15-20 minutes from Clandon station. Turn left out of Station Road on to the A247. Travel along the A247 for approximately 1 mile. Clandon Park is signposted on your right hand side just before you reach the Church of St Peter & St Paul. Please note the pavement is very narrow in places and may not be wide enough for buggies or wheelchairs.

Additional information

Entry to the Clandon Park is free throughout Heritage Open Day weekends, due to the essential construction works the house is inaccessible. There is no need to book for entry to the gardens or to meet some of the people caring for Clandon.
