Circomedia Open Doors Event
Circomedia, St. Paul's Church, Portland Square, Bristol, Bristol, BS2 8SJ
Circomedia are delighted to be hosting a Community Open Doors Event as part of Heritage Open Week.
Taking place in our iconic, historic church-turned-circus-school and performing arts venue in Bristol city centre, drop-in throughout the day and explore our space while taking part in a range of fun, free, family friendly creative activities!
From 10am - 4pm, children and young people can try their hand at a range of circus skills like aerial hoop, trapeze, juggling and tightwire, in our Youth Circus Have-a-Go sessions, led by our specialist Circus Skills Instructors; play to the rhythm in group African Drumming Workshops with St. Paul’s creative and dance and drumming pro, Rubba; and enjoy a range of other engagement activities from creatives in our local community.
You can also join us at 9:30am or 12:30pm as we host two special tours of our beautiful church venue. Coined the ‘wedding cake church’ due to its uniquely structured tower, and owned by the Churches Conservation Trust, this space has been home to the Circomedia Circus school for 20 years this year! Group sizes for these tours will be limited, so please register your interest to take part when you arrive at the venue.
Circomedia’s Café Bar will be open throughout the day serving tea, coffee and soft drinks, and don’t forget to visit the food stall where local caterers will be serving up tasty treats at excellent prices.
Everyone is welcome!
