Church of the Ascension, Hall Green
93B School Road, Hall Green, Birmingham, West Midlands, B28 8JQ
Everyone is welcome to come and look around, whether this is your first visit, you have a connection with us but haven't visited for a long time or you are a regular visitor. The church is a good example of the Queen Anne style and the only one in Birmingham completed during her reign. It was probably designed by Sir William Wilson, or at least influenced by him. The transepts and chancel were seamlessly added in the 1860s to give the building its cruciform shape. Originally Job Marston’s Chapel, it became Hall Green Parish Church in 1907 and then the Church of the Ascension in 1954.
Friendly volunteers will be on hand to show you around and there will be a display of photographs and other materials of interest. There will be booklets about the history of the church available to buy at £3 each.
Refreshments (tea, coffee, squash, biscuits) will be provided free of charge.

The Church has level access (no steps at the main entrance) and the aisles and transepts are all accessible by wheelchair. There are steps up to the alter but we have a ramp which can be used to give wheelchair access. There is a gallery which is accessed by stairs and, therefore, inaccessible to wheelchairs.
The small on-site car park - accessed from School Road - can be full during events but there is plenty of on-road parking in both School Road and Fox Hollies Road.
