Christ Church has for the last 163 years been the parish church for Shieldfield. This Grade II* listed building is a fine example of Victorian Gothic architecture. Its interior captures the history of Shieldfield.

The church has a distinctive spire with projecting gargoyles and clock face. It may give it a forbidding appearance, however, once inside the interior surprises and delights the visitor with its blend of space and light. The church contains numerous fine carvings, World War I memorial, stained and leaded windows, reredos by Charles Edgar Buckeridge, the highly esteemed Victorian religious painter, and displays which tell the history of the church and Shieldfield from Victorian times to today. Refreshments will be available to visitors.
