Celebration of the life of Alfred Wilcox VC and the other men involved on that day.

There will be a short ceremony to celebrate the life and achievements the men involved of Alfred Wilcox VC an Aston man who is buried in the churchyard. The ceremony will give equal prominence to the men involved that day who died in France. The event will be led by Colonel Marius Coulon, 8 Rifles and the Vicar of Aston & Nechells. The Rifles are the successors of Alfred’s own regiment the "Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry (43rd & 52nd).
There will be a display in the church about Alfred and his brothers who all served in WW1
Car Parking is available in front of the church will access from Aston Hall Road.
Light refreshments available from 12 noon in Aston Parish Church.

The memorial is located in a closed graveyard that is maintained by Birmingham City Council. There is foot path access to the memorial but there are steps. To avoid steps the route is through a space that is 'wilded'.
