Cavalry in the Courtyard

Step out into our hidden Tudor Courtyard in the centre of Newark. Meet a cavalry soldier and his horse and find out what it was like to be the fastest soldier on the battlefield. Learn how to use a pike to defend your cavalry and enjoy cavalry-themed creative activities in our Learning Space. Meet a cavalry horse at 10.30, 12.00 and 2pm. Cavalry Tours of our galleries at 11.30, 12.30 and 2.30. Learn to be a Pikeman in our Tudor Hall throughout the day. A fun-packed hands-on history day for all ages.
