Carlisle Cathedral

The Prior’s Tower will be open between 1100 and 1500 on Saturday 14th September 2024. A Cathedral guide will be available to tell you all about the beautiful, painted Tudor ceiling. No bookings required.

Bell Tower Tours will be available for free throughout the day on Saturday 14th September. These will be led by our Bell Ringing Team. These tours are usually £10 per adult but are being offered for free on Heritage Open Day!
Children must be over 8 years old and accompanied by an adult. Please book in advance!

Carlisle Cathedral will be part of a Free Family Heritage Trail alongside our friends at Carlisle Castle, Cumbria’s Museum of Military Life and Tullie Carlisle. Copies of the trail will be available at the Cathedral Welcome Desk and across the other 3 sites. An animal themed stamp can be collected at each location to earn a prize!
