Buxton Opera House
Water Street, Buxton, Derbyshire, SK17 6XN
From 1000 to 1600, Buxton Opera House will be open to the public to allow visitors to explore the history of our 121 year old theatre, designed by renowned theatre architect, Frank Matcham. Tours will take place throughout the day in groups of 20, and free teas and coffees will be available. Visitors will also have the opportunity to share their memories and stories of the Opera House with us, as part of collating material for our archives. A drop in session about our volunteer programme will be open through out the day to come and connect with our volunteers and find out how you could get involved too, create connections and become part of Buxton Opera House's esteemed history. Tours can be booked online, but visitors are also welcome to turn up on the day and explore some of our spaces without a tour booking.
