Special tour organised by The Fusilier Museum in partnership with Commonwealth War Graves Commission. Tour/talk about CWGC history and ongoing commemorations, then moving to The Fusilier Museum for a special tour and talk.

A unique opportunity to discover more about the work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and the personal stories of the people we commemorate. Meet at The Fusilier Museum before heading over to the Cross of Sacrifice outside Bury Parish Church. Then head back to the Fusilier Museum for a free tour and personal talk about the VC recipients.

The cross of sacrifice was originally erected in remembrance of the first world war and was unveiled on 11th November 1924 by the Earl of Derby. It stands proud outside Bury Parish Church in the old market square. It was designed by architect Sir Reginald Blomfield and was built by sculptor Hermon Cawthra.

The Fusilier Museum tells the fascinating stories of the Lancashire Fusiliers and Royal Regiment of Fusiliers through a series of permanent and temporary exhibitions.
