Britannia Restoration

Custom House, The Quay, Exeter, Devon, EX2 4AN

  • 14 Sep 2024
  • In person
  • Pre-booking not required

We will be having a stand to inform the public about Maritime Heritage in general and Britannia's role in Britain's seafaring community. This will include information about traditional crafts relating to shipbuilding, demonstrations, tools etc

Our presence at the Sea Shanty Festival on Exeter Quay and the East Quay of the Canal Basin, will have several aims

1 to raise public awareness about Maritime Heritage in Exeter
2 Demonstrate maritime crafts and skills with tools
3 raise awareness about the need for traditional boatbuilding skills and sailing to be passed on to new generations
4 Encourage more people to get involved with the Britannia Restoration project as volunteers, either working on the ship or behind the scenes

We will have a stand on the Quay and also have tours and talks on the boat herself. A brew with the crew!
