Come and explore Bridport Museum for free! The museum is right in the heart of Bridport, a historic rope and net making town. You will experience interactive displays and captivating stories, based in one of Bridport’s oldest buildings.

Founded in 1932, Bridport Museum is housed in a building known as 'The Castle'. The facade of the building goes back to Tudor times. .
Our collections and displays celebrate the town's unique heritage: 180 million years of rocks and fossils, 2000 years of people and 800 years of rope and net making.

Entry will be free from Tuesday 10 September to Saturday 14 September.

There will be live ropemaking demonstrations and guided walks. Discover hidden Bridport its buildings, people and stories with a historic guided walk of the town during heritage open week starting from the museum at 11am Tuesday - Friday.

The free historic guided walks start from the museum at 11am each day from 10-13 September. No booking is required but are subject to availability and weather permitting.
