The house was built by General Webb in 1711. You will see his equestrian portrait and paintings and furniture belonging to the present owners.

The present family have lived here since the early nineteen thirties and have accumulated an interesting collection of objects and paintings over the years. Reminders of Bloomsbury are interspersed with inherited paintings and tapestries and modern toys and games. The swimming pool was designed George Kennedy and it is overlooked by a gazebo with mosaics by Boris Anrep.
