On 6 September there will be three talks on the theme of networks and connections: Beverley’s water pump, Beverley’s gas lamps and Amy Johnson’s adventures. On 14 September there will be a glass making workshop.

On 6 September, Dick Lidwell, chairman of Beverley Civic Society will give a talk on the refurbishment of the water pump in North Bar Within, which was the primary source of drinking water for many in the town before a piped water supply was installed. On the two hundredth anniversary of their installation, Mike Farrimond will give a talk on the historic gas lamps of Beverley, and the men who worked to provide gas lighting in many towns and also in Hamburg! Rick Walton (author and organiser of the Amy Johnson Festival) will give a talk on the adventures of the aviation pioneer, Amy Johnson.

On 14 September there will be a stained glass making workshop led by the Wolds Heritage workshop and bookable via [email protected] - the course aims to introduce you to the traditional craft of stained glass making. Bring an apron, strong shoes. Not advisable for those in pregnancy due to the use of lead based materials.
