Berwick Barracks are the most northerly in England and were designed by John Hawksmoor. They were finished in 1721 and became the home of soldiers stationed in Berwick. Over the centuries, they have housed soldiers from many regiments spending time in the town and became the regimental headquarters of the Kings Own Scottish Borderers from 1881 to 1963. Now the site hosts a number of museums and is looking to the future with the Living Barracks Project.
