Local historian Dr Barry Darch will present an illustrated talk about how Beccles began and developed up to the mid 15th century.

Beccles developed in the Anglo-Saxon period as a market town and became the third town of Suffolk in the Middle Ages. This talk will consider how and why the town developed and what remains from earlier centuries.
