Bankfield Museum will be opening up to visitors on Sunday 8th September to give visitors to the area an opportunity to step inside the grand italianate mansion and enjoy the variety of its exhibitions programme, ranging from Engineers and Chocolatiers by Kate Lycett, Wild Words: Ted Hughes and the Poetry of Calderdale, Inspired: The Art of Making Historical Fashion and of course Mr Darcy's very famous shirt from Pride and Prejudice.

Bankfield Museum is an historic building and has no lifts to the upper floors. There is an accessible entrance to the rear of the building, signposted from the car park. There are public toilets and baby changing facilities located on the ground floor. There is a ground floor cafe area and gift shop where a selection of drinks and snacks are served. There is free car aparking on site and admission to the museum is free. Bus 576 Bradford via Queensbury runs frequently from Halifax Bus Station up Boothtown Road
