Head to Wiltshire & Swindon History Centre to get hands on with history and discover a world of archaeology.
From the archives there will be an exhibition of some of the sumptuous Tudor documents held at the History Centre, including Henry VIII’s marriage settlement to Jane Seymour and a letter from Elizabeth I. There will be a series of 10-minute spotlight talks on documents from medieval music manuscripts to D-Day diaries and American presidents to the Cold War. The talks will be at 10:30, 12:15, 13:00 and 14:00. Please register your interest for the spotlight talks by emailing [email protected]
To discover the archaeology under your town, village or home join the Historic Environment Record (HER) team to explore the amazing digital maps and database that record all the wonderful archaeological finds in the county. Workshops last 30 minutes. Space is limited so please book in advance. Sessions will be at: 10:00, 10:45, 11:30, 13:30, 14:15 and 15:00.
